Naturalization ni Blatche para sa Gilas lusot sa Kamara
MANILA, Philippines – Inaprubahan na sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ng Kamara ang panukalang gawing naturalized Filipino ang NBA player na si Andray Blatche upang palakasin ang men’s national basketball team.
Lumusot sa Kamara ang House Bill 4084 ni Antipolo City Rep. Roberto Puno na naglalayong idagdag si Blatche sa lineup ng Gilas Pilipinas para sa 2014 FIBA World Cup sa Espana sa Agosto.
"If granted the opportunity to play for the Philippines, Blatche will, undoubtedly, be an invaluable asset to the national team," nakasaad sa explanatory note ni Puno.

Kasalukuyang naglalaro para sa Brooklyn Nets ang 28-anyos na si Blatche na may habang 6’11 at average na 11.7 points, 5.6 rebounds at 1.4 assists kada laro.
Naniniwala si Puno na kailangang idagdag si Blatche upang magkaroon ng lehitimong sentro ang Pilipinas at para magkaroon ng kapalitan ang nauna nang naturalized player na si Marcus Douthit.

"We need to naturalize at least two players to avoid jeopardizing the entire basketball program in the event of an injury to any one of our naturalized players. Also, the addition of another player will contribute to effective team development."
