Yulo, Abad most bemedaled athletes 22 golds uwi ng Phl gymnastic junior team
MANILA, Philippines - Kumulekta ng 22 ginto ang Philippine gymnastics junior team sa PRIME Gymnastics International Invitational Championship sa Bisham Sports Stadium sa Singapore.
Sina Carlos Yulo at Fortunato Abad ay nag-uwi ng tig-limang ginto para maging most bemedaled na panlaban ng Pilipinas.
Si Yulo na inihahanda sa 2014 Asian Youth Olympics sa Nanjing, China ay nagkampeon a floor exercise (13.90), rings (6.627), vault (12.750) at horizontal bar (5.970). Kasama rin siya sa nanalo sa team gold sa 159.55 puntos.
Si Abad ay nanguna sa pommel horse (11.370), ring (12.857), paralle bar (12.157), horizontal bar (11.37) at overall individual gold (71.016) sa 18-under class. May dalawang ginto naman si Allen Christopher Lim sa overall individual (57.664) at pommel horse (10.44)
“It was a strong finish by our junior team, which underwent extensive traiÂning under Romanian coach Jana. We hope to sustain our strong showing on the international stage in time for our participation in the Asian Youth Olympics next year,†pahayag ni Gymnastics Association of the PhiÂlippines (GAP) president Cynthia Carrion.
