P1-M PBaRS tilt papalo ngayon sa Pampanga

MANILA, Philippines - Nakatakdang buksan ngayon ang MVP Sports Foundation-Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) kung saan higit sa 550 entries, pinamumuan ng mga national team mainstays at pla­yers mula sa pangunahing NCR at provincial clubs ang mag­lalaban para sa top honors at ranking points sa Excel Badminton Center sa San Fernando, Pampanga.

Sisimulan ang labanan sa boys’ at girls’ Under-19 at ang Open divisions sa nasabing day-long competition na tatampukan ng laban sa pagitan nina Carl Villanueva at Andrew Pineda.

Makakaharap ni Carl Caraan si John Quibranza, habang makakalaban ni Dandy Lojares si Diego Nealega at sasagupain ni Kristian Barrios si Daniel de Castro sa U-19 boys’ singles sa alas-9 ng umaga.

Makakatapat ni U-19 top seed Lorenzo Yason si Thomas de Guzman sa alas-3:30 ng hapon at makakalaban ni Mark Alcala, nagdomina sa U-15 division sa unang anim na yugto ng annual P1 million event na itinataguyod ng MVP Sports Foundation, si No. 3 seed Michael Ligan sa alas-4.

Ang mga national team members ay babanderahan ni top seed defending champion Toby Gadi na makakasukatan si JC Clarito, habang makakatagpo ni No. 2 Paul Vivas si Diego Libiran at makakatapat ni third seed Peter Magnaye si EJ Viloria.

Ang five-day event na may basbas ng Philippine Badminton Association na pinamumunuan ni Vice President Jejomar Binay katuwang sina sportsman Manny V. Pangilinan bilang chairman at Rep. Albee Benitez bilang sec-gen. ay nakahugot din ng mga players mula sa Escoses Training Camp, Golden Shuttle Foundation, Allied Victor, JLTC, Team Prima, Excel Badminton, MSI Jrs., Whackers Badminton Academy, Hundred Islands Badminton Club at Space Shuttle Kidapawan.
