Volleyball program dapat rebisahin--Garcia
MANILA, Philippines - Sa muling paglakas ng popularidad ng volleyball sa bansa, hinikayat ni Philipine Sports Commission chairman Richie Garcia ang Philippine Volleyball Federation na pag-aralan ang kanilang programa.
“Volleyball is really now on the upswing. It is becoming popular again. So nagkaroon na ito ng support from the viewing public,†wika ni Garcia. “So how can you take advantage of this, I think the only way is for the NSA (National Sports Association) to start reviewing their program.â€
Naging interesado ang mga Filipino fans sa mga bigating laro sa UAAP, NCAA at Shakey’s V-League.
“Develop the young volleyball athletes na may height because that is a very important factor sa volleyball for us to contend in the world-class competitions,†wika ni Garcia sa volleyball association.
Ngunit kasalukuyang nababalot sa problema ang PVF sa ilalim ni Gener Dungo matapos patawan ng suspensyon sina PVF board member Dr. Adrian Laurel at secretary-general Vangie de Jesus.
Sinuspinde ni Dungo sina Laurel at De Jesus dahil sa pagbuo ng national team committee na magsasagawa ng tryouts para sa national women’s squad na ilalaban sa Myanmar Southeast Asian Games sa Disyembre.
Sumulat na sina Laurel at de Jesus sa POC noong nakaraang Lunes para idulog ang kanilang suspensyon sa PVF.
