Lipa balik-PBA
MANILA, Philippines - Magbabalik si dating head coach Joe Lipa sa PBA bilang team consultant ng Global Port Batang Pier ni team owner Mikee Romero.
Mapapabilang si Lipa sa coaching staff ni mentor Glenn Capacio kasama nina assistant coaches Ricky Dandan, Johnedel Cardel, Louie Gonzales at Charles Tiu.
“Glenn and Ricky admit they’re still learning the ropes. So I asked them who their mentor is. It’s Joe Lipa and I gave Joe to them,” sabi ni Romero kay Lipa, nauna nang nagsibli bilang Commissioner ng UAAP at NCAA.
“Glenn is a rookie coach in the PBA. He may suffer mental blocks and, in such case, coach Joe Lipa will be there to provide the shocks,” dagdag pa ni Romero sa maibibigay na suporta ni Lipa sa dating FEU coach.
Tumayong head coach si Lipa sa PBA para sa Manila Beer, Formula Shell at FedEx at naging PBA technical consultant sa ilalim ng namayapang si dating PBA Commissioner Jun Bernardino.
Hinawakan na ni Lipa si Dandan sa University of the Philippines at si Capacio sa National team.
Tumayo rin siyang team consultant ng Harbour Centre Philippines Phl team ni Romero na nag-uwi ng gintong medalya sa 20-07 Nakhon Ratchasima Southeast Asian Games.
Si Lipa ang coach ng Phl team na kumuha ng bronze medal sa1986 Seoul Asian Games at pumuwesto sa ikaapat sa 1987 ABC Championship (ngayon ay FIBA Asia Championship).
