Takbo Para sa Kapayapaan ikinasa ng PSC sa Sept. 30

- Robbie M. Pangilinan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Inihayag ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Ricardo Garcia ang pagdaraos ng “Takbo Para sa Kapayapaan” sa Setyembre 30 sa Quirino Grandstand sa Rizal Park bilang bahagi ng pag-obserba sa National Peace Consciousness Month.

Sa SCOOP sa Kamayan forum sa Padre Faura, sinabi ni Garcia na ang event ay bahagi ng kanilang pakikisama sa Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) na namumuno sa peace activities tuwing buwan ng Setyembre sa ilalim ng Presidential Proclamation No. 675 na inisyu noong 2004.

“During this month, the OPAPP mandates all the nation’s government agencies to organize and participate in activities made to instill a cultural sense of peace as well as a better understanding of the Philippine peace process. In addition, President Aquino himself has ordered that all the concerned agencies support each other’s events by joining the events being organized specifically for this month,” ani Garcia

Ang tema ngayong taon ay “Ako. Ikaw. Tayo. Magkaiba, Nagkakaisa sa Kapayapaan.”

“It is our diversity as a people that brings us together instead of setting Filipino apart from Filipino,” wika ni Garcia.
