5 gold nilangoy ni Lacuna

DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines - Limang gintong medalya ang inangkin ni national swimmer Jessie Khing Lacuna sa swimming pool competition ng 2012 POC-PSC National Games kahapon dito sa Lorenzo Teves Aquatics Center.

Dinomina ng 18-anyos na si Lacuna ang labanan sa men’s 100-meter freestyle, 400m freestyle, 1,500m freestyle, 100m butterfly at 200m individual medley.

Anim na gold medal sana ang nakamit ni Lacuna, lalahok sa 2012 Olympic Games sa London sa Hulyo, kundi lamang siya na-disqualified sa 400m IM wala sa breaststroke position ang kanyang ka­tawan matapos ang 50m.

 Kumuha rin ng ginto sina nine-time Southeast Asian Games judo gold meda­list John Baylon at Olympian archer Jennifer Chan sa kani-kanilang events.

Binalibag ng 47-anyos na si Baylon, naghari sa judo event ng SEA Games simula noong 1991 hanggang 2009, si CJ San Pedro ng La Salle sa halos 10 segundo ng kanilang laro para sikwatin ang ginto sa Negros Oriental State University.

Pumana naman ang 47-anyos na si Chan ng 696 points sa women’s compound open qualification round para sa gold medal sa City High School.

Nagsulong ng ginto sa kani-kanilang events sa chess sina Darwin Laylo (men’s open), Jedara Docena (women’s open), Allanney Daroy (girl’s kiddies) at Jean Karen Enriquez (girls’ youth).
