Rosario puputok sa Olympics

MANILA, Philippines - Apat na taon na ang nakakaraan nang madismaya si national skeet shooter Brian Rosario matapos hindi mapili bilang kinatawan ng Pilipinas sa Olympic Ga mes sa Beijing, China noong 2008.

Ngayong taon, natupad na ang pangarap ng 29-anyos na si Rosario na makalaro sa 2012 Olympic Games sa London matapos siyang bigyan ng wildcard slot ng International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).

Kumpiyansa si Philippine National Shooting Association (PNSA) president Mikee Romero na ang 6-foot-1 na Marketing graduate ng International Business School ang siyang magbibigay sa bansa ng kauna-unahang gintong medalya sa Olympics.

“He is shooting good. He is shooting at a world-class level,” sabi ni Romero kay Rosario. “It has been a long time since a shooter this caliber has reached this. Kaya suportahan natin si Brian. May laban tayo ngayon.”

Si Rosario ay palagiang bumabaril ng gintong medalya sa SEA Games  at ang kasalukuyang national champion sa skeet 125 sapul noong 2005.

Siya ang isa sa mga top shooters ngayon ng bansa matapos makuha ang minimum qualifying score para sa Olympics ng anim na beses simula noong 2008 kumpara kina Jethro Dionisio at Beijing Olympian Eric Ang.

Bumaril si Rosario ng 122/125 mark sa isang na tional competition para tumbasan ang iskor ni Vincent Hancock na kumuha ng gold medal sa 2008 Beijing Olympics.
