UST, St. John umiskor sa SBP National Under 16

Baguio City  ,Philippines — Naglista ang University of Santo Tomas at St. John Institute ng mga panalo para sa magkatulad nilang 2-0 cards sa 2012 Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas National under 16 dito sa University of Ba­guio gym.

Tinalo ng Growling Ti­­gers ang International School for Better Beginnings, 61-58, at binomba na­­man ng Bacolod-based na St. John ang St. Agnes, 95-45.

Bumangon naman ang University of Visayas mu­la sa kanilang 91-99 over­time loss sa St. John Ins­titute makaraang igupo ang La Union College of Nur­sing and Arts, 84-71, upang makatabla ang San Fer­nando-based squad sa 1-1 cards kasama ang Holy Child School of Davao, St. Clare at ISBB.

Pinasadsad ng mga Holy Child, natalo sa ka­ni­lang unang laro kontra sa LUCNAS, 59-70, ang St. Clare, 73-58.

Nagkaroon pa ng tsansa ang ISBB na madala ang laro sa overtime.

Subalit naimintis naman ni Glenn Gilbert Ninobla ang isang three-point shot sa huling 17 segundo na nag­­patakas sa UST, ginapi ang host University of Baguio, 73-67, kamakalawa.

“I didn’t expect to end the game that way because this was the first time we played against them. I’m ha­ppy we won,” sabi ni coach Dexter Dy.

Umiskor si Kirell Brandon Montalbo ng 20 points pa­ra sa nasabing tagum­pay ng Growling Tigers ka­sunod ang 18 ni Eldrie Go 18 at 10 ni Juan Diego Mon­toya.
