Pacquiao-M'weather fight posibleng makasama sa nilulutong boxing cards ng Top Rank at GBP

MANILA, Philippines - Inamin ng mga opisyales ng Top Rank Promotions at Golden Boy Promotions na may nangyayaring pag-uusap sa pagitan nila kaugnay sa mga pinaplano nilang malalaking boxing cards.

Isa na rito ay ang posibleng paghaharap nina Manny Pacquiao at Floyd Mayweather, Jr. na dalawang ulit nabalam bunga ng pag-atras ng undefeated American fighter.

“We are having conversations about fights,” wika ni Bob Arum ng Top Rank sa kanyang pakikipag-usap sa Golden Boy ni Oscar Dela Hoya. “Obviously if they have fighters and we have fighters, and they have fighters to match up with our fighters, then we're going to make those fights.”

Mula sa usapin sa prize money hanggang sa isyu sa kanilang pagsasailalim sa Olympic-style random drug testing ang siyang pinalitaw na mga dahilan ng 34-anyos na si Mayweather sa kanyang pag-atras sa kanilang megafight ng 32-anyos na si Pacquiao.

Nauna na ring pinag-agawan ng Top Rank at Golden Boy ang Filipino world eight-division champion mula sa isyu sa promotional contract.

“Up to this point, there had been a period where we wouldn't make those fights because of the Manny Pacquiao situation,” sabi ni Arum. “But that's now been resolved.”

Nakatakdang itaya ni Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KOs) ang kanyang suot na WBO welterweight title kontra kay Marquez (53-5-1, 39 KOs) sa Nobyembre 12 sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hahamunin naman ni Mayweather (41-0-0, 26 KOs) si WBC welterweight titlist Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 12 KOs) sa Set­yembre 17 sa MGM Grand.

“Bob and me are having ongoing productive conversations about nume­rous fights,” ani Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer. “I think it is a positive for the sport when the two largest promotional companies are working together.”
