'Juaning' makakatulong sa Azkals

MANILA, Philippines - Halos dalawang beses lamang sa isang taon kung umulan sa Kuwait.

At ang pananalasa ng bagyong si ‘Juaning’ sa Metro Manila ang inaasahang makakatulong sa dehadong Philippine Azkals sa kanilang pagsagupa sa Al-Azraq ng Kuwait sa second leg ng 2014 World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Nakatakda ang banggaan ngayong alas-7 ng gabi sa Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.

“I really hope that it will be a factor for us and it will be a factor against them,” sabi ni Azkals’ team manager Dan Palami sa Al-Azraq na nanaig sa first leg, 3-0, noong Sabado ng gabi sa Kuwait. “We are used to playing in the rain and that is something I think quite strange for the Kuwaitis.”

Umabot sa mainit na 45 sentigrado ang klima sa Kuwait nang matalo ang Azkals sa Al-Azraq sa first leg.

“With or without the rain we will be there. That is what the sport is all about,” ani Palami. “I hope that we don’t rely on the rain to beat them. But if it will help, why not.”

Umulan rin nang igupo ng Azkals ang Brave Reds ng Sri Lanka, 4-0, sa second leg sa first round noong Hunyo sa Rizal Memorial Football Stadium matapos ang kanilang 1-1 draw sa first leg sa Colombo, Sri Lanka.
