Andy Jao tatayong Commissioner ng 2011 UAAP season

MANILA, Philippines - Isang dating Commissioner ng Philippine Basketball League (PBL) ang tatayong bagong Com­missioner para sa 74th University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball tournament na didribol sa Hulyo 9 sa Araneta Coliseum.

Si Andy Jao ang siyang papalit kay Ato Ba­dolato para sa naturang pu­westo sa UAAP.

Si Jao ang kasaluku­yang team consultant ng Rain or Shine sa Philippi­ne Basketball Association (PBA).

"In the PBL, I was also hand­ling the day-to-day ope­rations of the league and talking to the board of governors constantly,” wika ni Jao.

Ang unang aksyon ni Jao bilang UAAP Commissioner ay ang pagrere­komenda sa UAAP Board ng ilang eks­peryensadong referees mu­la sa pool ng Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).

"I intend to borrow from the Sonny Barrios of the SBP to include some his referees to officiate in the UAAP since we're implementing FIBA rules anyway,” ani Jao kay Barrios, ang SBP executive director. “Of course, I will ask permission of the board and I know they wouldn't deny me this request.”
