Escueta umiskor ng 2 panalo sa PBaRS 2nd leg

MANILA, Philippines - Binuksan ni Joper Escueta ang kanyang kampanya sa dalawang dibisyon mula sa dalawang straight-set victories sa MVP Sports Foundation-Bingo Bonanza Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS) tournament kahapon sa Pohang Badminton Courts sa Bacolod City.

Tinalo ni Escueta, asam ang kanyang ikalawang su­nod na korona sa Under-19 category, si UP-Diliman bet Gio Fajardo, 21-7, 21-1, sa weeklong tournament na nagsisilbing second leg ng four-stage nationwide circuit.

Bago ito, pinayukod muna ni Escueta, isa sa mga miyembro ng national team na naglaro sa nakaraang Sudirman Cup, si Allied-Victor pride Joshua Monterubio, 21-9, 21-11, sa Open division na dinomina ni Phl team mainstay Antonino Gadi noong Marso.

Binigo naman ni Markie Alcala, ang U-15 singles champion, si Golden Shuttle Foundation player Miguel Ramos, 21-11, 21-15, sa U-19 class ng P1 million event na proyekto nina Vice President Jejomar Binay, Rep. Albee Benitez at businessman-sportsman Manny Pangilinan.

Ang iba pang umabante sa U-19 men’s singles ay sina Paul Malata ng Iloilo Valiant Badminton Club, Clarence Filart ng GSF, Miguel Leonardo ng JLTC/Flypower, Kevin Cudiamat ng Phl Team/Victor, Paolo Infante ng WWGBA, Christian Sison ng Whackers, Gerard Sibayan ng Phl Team/Victor, Josh Escubio ng IVBC, Robert Aloyan ng Jaguar Badminton Aca­demy, JC Clarito at Jose Martinez ng La Salle, Julius Sta. Ana ng Bulacan State U at Joshua Monterubio ng Allied/Victory.
