PSC tatanggalin sa payroll ang mga atleta kapag...

Manila, Philippines -  Dapat lang na seryosohin ng mga national athletes at kanilang mga National Sports Associations (NSAs) ang darating na Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) -Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Philippine National Games (PNG) na nakatakda sa Mayo 23-29 sa Bacolod City.

Sinabi kahapon ni PSC chairman Richie Garcia na ang sinumang atletang hindi makakalahok sa 2011 PNG ay tatanggalin nila sa kanilang payroll.

“This is a mandatory participation ng mga national athletes natin under the payroll of the PSC. So ‘yung mga atleta na hindi sasali dito (2011 PNG) for one reason or another, except ‘yung mga athletes abroad, will be remove from the payroll.” 

Bukas sa lahat ng Filipino athletes ang nasabing sports event na magsisilbing basehan ng paghugot ng mga bagong miyembro ng national team na maaaring ilahok sa Southeast Asian Games, Asian Games at Olympic Games, ayon kay Gomez.

Ang 2011 PNG ay gagastusan ng sports commission ng P30 milyon kung saan halos 8,500 atleta mula sa 17 rehiyon ang lalahok, kasama rito ang mga national team mainstays. Kabuuang 36 sports events ang nakalatag sa 2011 PNG.

Idaraos sa Bacolod City ang 5K at 10K marathon, athletics, badminton, beach volleyball, billiards, equestrian, fencing, gymnastics, judo, karatedo, lawn tennis, motorcycle sports, sailing, soft tennis, swimming, taekwondo, volleyball, wall climbing, weightlifting, wind surfing at wrestling.

 Nasa Bago City naman ang canoe kayak, dragon boat, muay thai at wushu, habang ang baseball, road cycling, futsal, football, penkak silat, softball at table tennis ay gagawin sa Talisay. Ang Silay City ang mamamahala sa archery, arnis, sepak takraw at triathlon.
