Escueta, De Vera nanguna sa PBaRS tournament

MANILA, Philippines - Nagtala ng mga straight sets wins sina na­tional team mainstay Joper Escueta at Joella De Vera ng Whackers sa kani-kanilang events para banderahan ang pagbubukas ng P1 million Philippine Badmin­ton Ranking System (PB­aRS) tournament sa Po­wer­Smash kahapon sa Ma­kati City.

Tinalo ni Escueta, nag­hari sa Prima Pasta Open at nagkampeon sa Under-19 crown sa 2010 Ming Ramos-Victor National Open, si Carlo Glenn Remo ng Es­coses Training Camp, 21-14, 21-8, sa boys’ sing­les matches sa 128-player U-19 field.

Dinomina naman ni De Ve­ra si Sarah Joy Barredo ng WWGBA-Prince sa first set patungo sa 21-8, 21-16 panalo sa U-15 girls’ singles ng torneong nagsisilbing kickoff leg ng nasabing four-stage nationwide ran­king circuit.

Makakasama ni Escue­ta, paborito rin sa Open ca­tegory ng eight-day tour­na­ment na suportado ng MVP Sports Foundation-Goal Pilipinas!, Bingo Bo­nan­za Corp. at Victor at may basbas ng Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Sports Commission at ng bagong Philippine Bad­minton Association, si­na national junior team mem­ber Carlos Cayanan, Sean Chan ng JC Badmin­ton, Josh Maquelabit ng Es­coses, Elijah Boac ng Pri­ma, Aleckhine Aquino ng Theresian BC, Karl Fo­ronda, Kyle Gosiaco at Cla­rence Filart ng Golden Shuttle Foundation.

Iginupo ni Cayanan si John Navarro, 21-11, 21-13, sa kanilang laro.
