Donaire title holder ang gustong kalaban, matapos umatras ni Moreno

MANILA, Philippines - Bagamat inatrasan ni Panamanian champion An­selmo “Chemito” Moreno, marami pang title holders ang maaaring puntiryahin ni world bantamweight king Nonito The Filipino Flash” Donaire, Jr.

“Ang gusto kong makalaban ‘yung mga title holders na champion ng bantamweight division,” ani Donaire kahapon sa lingguhang PSA sports forum sa Shakey’s sa U.N. Avenue, Manila. “Iyon lang ang gusto kong ma­kalaban kasi gusto kong i-unify ‘yung mga belts na magiging undisputed ako.”

Inagaw ni Donaire ang mga suot na World Boxing Council (WBC) at World Boxing Organization (WBO) bantamweight belts ni Mexican Fernando Montiel via second-round TKO noong Pebrero 19 sa Mandalay Bay sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

Isang unification fight ang inaasahan ng 28-anyos na tubong Talibon, Bohol matapos tanggalan ng korona ang 31-anyos na si Montiel.

Nang hindi makuha ang hinihinging $300,000 ay umatras sa usapan si Moreno, ang kasalukuyang World Boxing Association (WBA) bantamweight titlist.

Si Donaire, dating naghari sa flyweight division ng International Boxing Federation (IBF) at International Boxing Organization (IBO), ay may 26-1-0 win-loss-draw ring record kasama ang 18 KOs

Maliban kay Moreno (30-1-1, 10 KOs), ang iba pang maaaring makalaban ni Doinaire para sa isang unification fight ay sina Mexican-born IBO at WBC silver belt king Abner Mares (21-0-1, 13 KOs) at African two-time IBF champion Joseph Agbeko (28-2, 22 KOs).
