MANILA, Philippines - Umiskor ng magkakahiwalay na panalo sina na­tional open champion Lee Vann “The Slayer” Corteza, Warren “Warrior” Kiamco at Roberto “Pinoy Superman” Gomez, habang napatalsik naman sina Efren “Bata” Reyes at Jose “Amang” Parica sa 2010 US Open 10-ball championship sa Riviera Hotel and Casino sa Las Vegas, Nevada.

Tinalo ni Corteza si Ame­rican Francis Crevier, 9-8, upang painitin ang kanyang ratsada sa tor­neong nagha­hanay ng $89,000 total pot prize kung saan ang $20,000 ay makukuha ng magkakampeon.

Makakaharap ni Corteza, may 3-0 rekord ngayon, si Kuo Po-cheng ng Taiwan na tumalo kay dating world 9-ball champion Earl “The Pearl” Strickland, 9-8.

Umiskor naman ang tubong Pasil, Cebu na si Kiam­co ng 9-5 panalo kay world 9-ball at 8-ball champion Ralf “Kaiser” Souquet ng Germany upang maitakda ang kanilang banggaan ni world 10-ball titlist Mika “The Iceman” Immonen ng Finland, nagpatumba kay American Dan Heidrich, 9-2.

Iginupo ni Gomez, nauna nang tumalo kay Reyes, si Jason Klatt ng Canada, 9-7, para ayusin ang kanilang salpukan ni Thomas Engert ng Germany, nagpayukod kay world 9-ball at 8-ball king Ronnie “The Volcano” Alcano, 9-6.

Nalasap naman ni Reyes ang kanyang ikalawang kabiguan kay American Johnny “The Scorpion” Archer, 5-9, sa loser’s side na tuluyan nang sumipa sa kanya sa torneo kasama ang Filipino pool legend na si Parica, nabigo kay Japanese Toru Kuribayashi, 6-9.

Nahulog sa loser’s side si Francisco “Django” Bustamante nang gitlain ng kababayang si Edwin Montal, 1-9.

Magkakasama sa loser’s side sina Bustamante, Alcano, Al Lapena, ginitla ni American Mike Dechaine, 3-9, at World Money Game king Dennis Orcullo, tinalo ni Canadian Stan Tourangeau, 7-9.
