Upakang Mayweather, Mosley ngayon na

LAS VEGAS - Naisip ng mga promoters ng mega fight nina Floyd Mayweather, Jr. at Shane Mosley na magiging matindi ang bakbakan kaya nila ito’y ti­nawag na “Who R U Picking?”

Bago ang nasabing 12-round welterweight match, mas marami ang naniniwalang matatalo ni Mayweather si Mosley ngayon sa MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Paborito si Mayweather (40-0, 25 KOs) dahil sa pagiging 33-anyos kumpara sa 38-anyos na si Mosley.

Nakakuha si Mayweather ng 4-to-1 betting favorite ng mga Las Vegas oddsmakers.

Hindi rin maikakailang kayang gumawa ng sorpresa si Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs).

Naniniwala si Mosley pantay lamang ang kanyang bilis kay Mayweather, ngunit mas malakas naman siya sa huli.

“Well, I think I’m as fast as any fighter out there and especially Floyd. I’m one of the fastest,” ani Mosley. “I’ve always been quick. We’ll see when we get in there. I’ve never been in the ring with Floyd so I don’t know how to answer that, how I’m going to counter. I’m just going to do what I do best as Sugar Shane Mosley.”

Kabilang naman sa mga dating kampeong tinalo ni Mayweather ay sina Arturo Gatti, Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, Oscar Dela Hoya at Ricky Hatton.

“No matter what happens I’m always in a no-win situation,” wika ni Mayweather. “All I’ve done over the years is constantly beat everyone they put in front of me, but I’m never going to get my just due. When I beat Shane they’ll just say I beat an old fighter.”

Huling tinalo ni Mayweather si Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez. Makikita naman sa laban ang depensa ni Mayweather laban sa atake ni Mosley.

“This fight is not a strength-type of fight where a guy is going to be throwing a thousand punches and trying to wear me down that way. This is a different fight,” wika ni Mosley. “This guy is going to try to out-think me. So I’ll have to use that style of fighting to overcome what he has to offer. But I don’t think this guy has faced anybody with my skill, power and know-how about boxing.”
