“Sports was overlooked for a long time in Makati. Ironically, we have so many public and private schools whose athletes have the potential to excel in so many sporting fields,” ani Mercado. “I am very confident that the next leader of the city will put premium on sports, as we plan to do in case we win our bid.”

“We are hoping to see an athlete from Makati to raise gold medals for the country.”

“We have swimming pools, athletic fields, open parks. These are readily available and accessible in Makati. It’s not only the cities of Manila and Pasig, which have these. Makati is not purely a place for business. Sports heroes will soon rise from our beloved city,” ani Mercado.
