MANILA, Philippines - Sa kabila ng dramatikong pagpasok ng mga Elasto Pain­ters sa quarterfinal round katapat ang Giants, inaasahang tututukan pa rin ng atensyon ang banggaan ng nagdedepensang Tropang Texters at Gin Kings.

Ayon kay Talk ‘N Text head coach Chot Reyes, sila ang tatayong ‘underdog’ sa kanilang best-of-five quarterfinals showdown ng Barangay Ginebra ni Jong Uichico.

“They have Cyrus Baguio, Ronald Tubid and JC Intal, who we think we have to contain. Imagine if they have Caguioa and­ Junthy playing, then those players will be lost in the rotation,” ani Reyes sa Ginebra. “To be honest, we are the underdogs in the series.”

Kung paborito naman ang Gin Kings, sinabi ni Uichico na sila na dapat ang nagkampeon sa nakaraang PBA Fiesta Conference kung saan sila tinalo ng nagharing San Miguel Beer­men.

“Sana kung mas malakas kami, kami ang nag-champion last season because we have the same intact line-up,” pagpa­lag ni Uichico sa pahayag ni Reyes.

Magtatagpo ang Talk ‘N Text at ang Ginebra ngayong alas-7:30 ng gabi matapos ang salpukan ng Purefoods Tender Juicy at Rain Or Shine sa alas-5 ng hapon sa quarterfinals ng 2009-2010 PBA Philippine Cup sa Araneta Coliseum.

Parehong nanggaling sa panalo ang Tropang Texters at ang Gin Kings makaraang takasan ang Beermen, 93-91, no­ong Enero 16 at igupo ang Burger King Whoppers, 122-104, noong Enero 17, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
