Nokia RP U-18 tryout sa Enero 4 na
MANILA, Philippines - Inihayag ni Nokia RP head coach Eric Altamirano na ang tryouts para sa Nokia RP U-16 U-18 team ay gaganapin sa January 2, 2010 sa PhilSports Arena.
Ang nasabing team ay isasabak sa Fiba Asia U-18 Championship for Men sa September 2010. Ang team ay para sa mga player na ipinanganak noong 1992.
Pinasalamatan ni Altamirano sina Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) chairman Manny Pangilinan at executive director Noli Eala sa pagpapatuloy ng programang suportado ng Nokia Philippines at TAO Corporation, ang huli ay sa pamumuno ni president Jun Sy.
“I thank the SBP for allowing the team backed by Nokia Philippines and TAO Corporation to form a team this time for the U-18 Championships. Their support will go a long way in fully rejuvenating basketball in the country, “ ani Altamirano.
Ang Nokia RP U-16 team ay pumang-apat sa Fiba Asia U-16 Tournament sa Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Ayon pa kay Altamirano ay malalaking player ang hanap niya dahil mas matatanda na ay malakas ang makakalaban sa U-18 tournament.
“Our mindset for the U-18 should be a bit different this time, but we will again continue to draw on our strengths of quickness, outside shooting and team play,” wika ni Altamirano.
Maaari pa ring ikonsidera ang mga players ng U-16 na kinabibilangan ni team captain Kiefer Ravena, Von Pessumal, Roldan Sara, Gelo Alolino, Jeron Teng, Jeoffrey Javillonar, Kevin Ferrer, Mike Pate, Mike Tolomia, Nestor Bantayan, Paolo Romero at Cedric Labing-Isa.
