235 runners sali sa National Milo Marathon Finals

MANILA, Philippines - May kabuuang 235 lalaki at babaeng runners, 169 nito mula sa Manila, 160 ay mga lalaki ang umusad sa finals ng 33rd National MILO Marathon Finals na nakatakda sa October 11 sa Manila matapos ang walong buwan na 26-leg nationwide elimination races.

Magtitipon ang mga runners sa Manila sagot lahat ng organizers para hamunin si reigning men champion Eduardo Buenavista at current women queen Mercedita Manipol Fetalvero sa 42k race kung saan ang kampeon ng bawat division ay mag-uuwi ng P75,000.

Sina Rene Desuyo at Christabel Martes, ang 2005 Manila SEA Games marathon winner, ang nanguna sa Metro Manila leg men at women division, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Kabilang sa mga nag-qualify ay sina two-time marathon champion Allan Ballester, Alley Quisay, Rogelio Sarmiento, Ronald Despi, Reynaldo de los Reyes, Jho-Ann Banayag, Aileen Tolentino, Geraldine Sealza, Librada Tamson, Meshelle Villanueva, Maricel de la Peña at Rosario Alberto.

Samantala, upang higit na maganda ang takbo ng karera, gagamitin ng Milo Marathon ang ChampionChip timing system sa Nationals Finals.

Ito ang inihayag ni Nestle AVP at Milo sports events executive Pat Goc-ong nang magpirmahan ng memorandum of agreement sa pagitan nina National Milo Marathon race director at R.A.C.E president Rudy Biscocho at FINISHLINE officials na pinamumunuan ng presidente nilang si Rio dela Cruz, at sales and marketing manager Vincent Mendoza.

Ang FINISHLINE, ang exclusive distributor ng ChampionChip timing system sa bansa. Ito ay susuportahan naman ng Reinier Pacific International at takbo.ph volunteers na mamamahala sa support stations para sa 42K at 21K runners.

 Samantala inihayag ni national MILO Marathon organizer Rudy Biscocho na ang registration para sa side events na 21K, 10K, 5K, at 3K kiddie run sa upcoming MILO national finals ay tatanggapin hanggang October 5 sa 51 Annapolis St. sa Greenhills, San Juan, Planet Sports sa Rockwell Plaza, Mizuno outlets at Bonifacio High St. at Trinoma.
