Women for Sports sa Koronadal
MANILA, Philippines - Sa pagsisimula ng programang Women in Sports sa probinsya, sina Philippine Sports Commissioner Akiko Thomson at Mayor Fernando Miguel ay nag-organisa ng 3k at 5k marathon, badminton at volleyball tournaments at clinics sa Koronadal City (dating Marbel), South Cotabato noong Mayo 11 to 15, 2009.
“We bring the national program for women in sports to Mindanao as a vehicle for peace. Through our lined-up acivities, we hope to reach out to women of all ages whose impassioned participation continues to inspire other sectors to utilize sports in empowerment and values formation,” wika ni Thomson.
Ang mga batikang coaches na sina Judith Brosula ng badminton, Elma Muros-Posadas at Jojo Posadas ng athletics, Emilio Rafols ng swimming at Sergio Isada ng volleyball ay nagsagawa ng intensive clinics.
Kaagad isusunod ang Saranggani leg kung saan magkakaroon ng basketball, volleyball, taekwondo table tennis at badminton competitions.
Magdadaos din ng 3k at 5k marathon para sa mga babae. Ang mga clinics para sa badminton, basketball at volleyball ay tatampukan ng mga beteranong coaches at trainers.
