PhilCycling wala nang problema

MANILA, Philippines - Para sa bagong pangulong si Tagaytay City Mayor Abraham, “Bambol” Tolentino, wala nang problema pang dapat resolbahan ang Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

Nainsulto si Tolentino nang ipag-utos ni POC president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco, Jr. na magtakda ng eleksyon ang Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines (PhilCycling) sa Mayo 9.

“We are extremely insulted and humiliated with your (POC executive committee) resolution and declare that we are not participating whatsoever in that ‘election’ because we sincerely believe that it is a practice in absurdity, participation of which relegates us to the lowest of our humanity,” nasa liham ni Tolentino kay Cojuangco.

Sinabi ni Tolentino na sinunod nila ang lahat ng prosesong nakasaad sa Constitution and By-Laws ng PhilCycling na dating pinamahalaan ni Bert Lina.

Sinabi ng POC na ang itinakda nilang eleksyon sa Mayo 9 ang siyang reresolba sa sinasabi nitong ‘impasse’ sa PhilCycling na inaangkin ni Chicago-based cycling patron Rolando Hiso.

Sa resolusyon ng POC noong Abril 15, sinabi nitong kailangang magtakda ang PhilCycling ng panibagong halalan sa umaga ng Mayo 9 sa Amoranto Sports Complex sa Quezon City.

Nauna nang nagdaos ng elek-syon ang PhilCycling noong Enero 16 kung saan nailuklok si Tolentino bilang bagong pangulo. (Russell Cadayona)
