Donaire, Viloria pinuri ni Villar

MANILA, Phillippines - Nagharap ng isang resolusyon si Senator Manny Villar, sa pagpapapuri kina boxing champion Nonito Donaire at Brian Viloria bunga ng kanilang tagumpay kontra sa mga dayuhang kalaban sa double world title bout na ginanap sa Araneta Coliseum noong Linggo.

 “With their victories, Nonito and Bryan once again made the Philippines proud. They have once again proven to the whole world that Filipinos have what it takes to excel in whatever field of endeavor. They bring great pride and inspire all Filipinos to excel in their undertakings to achieve success and world recognition,” wika ni Villar.

Napanatili ni Donaire, na tampok sa main event, ang kanyang International Boxing Federation (IBF) at International Boxing Organization world flyweight titles sa pamamagitan ng fourth-round technical knockout kontra sa dating walang talong Mexican na si Raul “Cobra” Martinez.

Sa kabilang dako, pinabagsak naman ni Viloria si champion Ulises Solis ng Mexico sa 11th round upang maagaw ang IBF junior flyweight title.

Samantala, mariing kinondena ng Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP) ang pagpatay kay Edwin Reyes, na binaril noong Sabado ng umaga sa kanyang apartment sa Quezon City.

 “We condemn in strongest terms this cowardly and treacherous act against one of our members,” ani BMPAP president Atty. Vic Rodriguez.

Ipinaabot naman ni Villar ang kanyang pakikidalamhati sa pamilya ni Reyes.
