Jackson mas tama sa SLR; import ng Realtors 'di flashy pero...

MANILA, Philippines - Hindi siya isang ‘flashy import’ kagaya ng ibang reinforcements na naglaro sa Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Ngunit ayon kay Sta. Lucia head coach Boyet Fernandez, ang katulad ni 6-foot-6 Arthur James Jackson ang kailangan nilang import para sa darating na 2009 PBA Fiesta Conference na hahataw sa Pebrero 28 tampok ang kanilang pakikipagtagpo sa Burger King sa Dumaguete City.

“He’s not a flashy import katulad ng ibang mga nakikita natin,” wika kahapon ni Fernandez kay Jackson. “He’s more of a team player. He can shoot the lights out but he can also play at the low post na kailangan ngayon ng team namin.”

Ang produkto ng Robert Morris University ay nagrehistro ng mga averages na 14.2 puntos, 5.6 rebounds, at 1.1 steals per game para sa tropa ng Colonials sa 2007-2008 season sa Division One Northeast Conference.

 Gusto sana ni Fernandez na makuha si 6’6 Shawn Daniels, ngunit muli itong tinawag ng Burger King, dating Air21.

 “Actually, si Shawn Daniels ang original choice namin because of his low post plays at maganda rin ‘yung teamwork niya sa Air21,” wika ni Fernandez kay Daniels. “In the case of AJ Jackson, he’s not too big as Shawn Daniels but he also can play as a team.”

 Bukod sa 240-lbs na si Jackson, ang iba pang mga baguhang imports ay sina Titus Wade ng Talk ‘N Text, Reggie Larry ng Purefoods, Scooter McFagdon ng Barako Bulls at Nate Carter ng San Miguel.

 Makikita naman muli sa aksyon sina Rod Nealy (Ginebra), Charles Clark III (Rain or Shine) at J.J. Sullinger (CocaCola), samantalang inaasahang ibabalik ng Alaska si Rosell Ellis. (Russell Cadayona)
