Junior baseball ilulunsad ng Baseball Philippines
Gagawa ng hakbang ang Baseball Philippines sa pagdevelop ng sports sa bansa sa pormal na paglulunsad ng katulad na torneo sa mga kabataang may edad 15 hanggang 17 taong gulang.
Inihayag ni Chito Loyzaga ng Community Sports Inc. ang mga mga plano para sa pilot season ng Junior Baseball Philippines, sa PSA Forum sa Shakey’s UN Ave. branch kahapon.
Ito ay bubuksan sa opener ng Baseball Philippine Series V sa Rizal Memorial baseball stadium sa Abril 12.
Binubuo ng mga pioneer teams na gaganapin sa kooperasyon ng Philippine Amateur Baseball Association (PABA), Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) at Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang Cagayan Valley, Alabang, Quezon City at Pampanga.
“This is our way of nurturing the youth to play the game, and at the same time, for them to have a feel of what it likes to play like real pros and for them to have a feel of what it likes to play at a historic field such as the Rizal Memorial baseball stadium,” ani Loyzaga, sa forum na hatid ng Shakey’s, Accel, Brickroad gym and Aspen spa at MedCentral Medical Clinic and Diagnostic Center.
Idinagdag ni Loyzaga na ang mga eligible players para dito ay may edad 15 taong gulang ng Enero 1 ng taong ito at hindi pa tutuntong sa edad 18 hanggang Disyembre 31st ng 2009.
