GTK, pangulo pa rin ng PATAFA

Matapos tanggapin ang panibagong 4-year term bilang pangulo ng Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association, itutuon ni Go Teng Kok ang lahat ng kanyang plano para sa darating na taon ang korona sa track and field sa 2009 Southeast Asian Games.

Dahil sa panibagong termino na binigay ng PATAFA National board kay Go at sa kanyang misyon, sinabi niyang bibitawan na rin niya ang iba pa niyang posisyon sa iba pang national Sports Association para sa athletics lamang nakasentro ang kanyang atensiyon.

Si Go ay presidente rin ng Karatedo, chairman ng grassroots development sa Basketball Association of the Philippines at board member ng chess association.

“I’ve done a lot of work these past years. I’ve served a lot of sports and done my best to contribute in their development. With this new mandate in the PATAFA, I vow to concentrate more on the athletics,” ani Go na nagsabing bibigyan niya ng atensiyon ang grassroots development ng sport.

Nahalal din si Dagupan City Mayor Alipio Fernandez bilang chairman, si Cham Teng Young ang executive vice president at si Cai Yong Bang ang VP for administration.

Ang pinakamagandang pagtatapos na ipinakita ng GTK army ay noong 2003 Vietnam SEA Games sa pagkopo ng siyam na golds, 11-silver at 10-bronze medals. (Mae Balbuena)
