Pacquiao, may tsansang manalo - Steward

LAS VEGAS --Kapag napagod ka, pababagsakin ka ni Manny Pacquiao.

Ito ay isang payo para kay Oscar Dela Hoya na galling sa kanyang dating trainer na si Emmanuel Steward na nagsabing sa kanyang palagay, malaki ang tsansa ni Pacquiao na maknockout ang Golden Boy kung mapapagod ito.

“Oscar has the tendency in all of his big fights to fall apart in the latter rounds,” ani Steward, nagtrain kina Thomas Hearns, Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Julio Cesar Chavez at Wladimir Klitschko.

Sinabi ni Steward na kahit na may physical advantage si De Hoya (mas mataas ng apat na pulgada sa height at anim na pulgada sa reach), may bilis at power naman ni Pacquiao para pabagsakin ang mas malalaking fighters.

 “That’s why Oscar has to keep his distance. He can move around, slip-and-slide with his left jab and left hook. Manny Pacquiao is a good fighter but he’s giving up a big weight advantage in this fight Oscar is big but he’s not slow,” aniya.

Ang estilo ni Pacquiao ang magpapahirap kay Dela Hoya, dagdag ni Steward.

 “Pacquiao can show the intensity from the first round to the 12th round. What Manny has going for him is a great punching power I’ve never seen in a long time --from the first round until the 12th round. Most big punchers like Mike Tyson are good only in the first four rounds then they tire,” aniya.

Sinabi ni Steward na kadalasan ay nasa kontrol si Dela Hoya sa kaagahan ng laban ngunit nawawala ito sa huling bahagi ng laban at nakita ang kahinaang ito sa kanyang laban kontra kina Floyd Mayweather Jr., Felix Trinidad, Shane Mosley at Bernard Hopkins.

“If Oscar gets tired against Manny, Manny will knock him out. Oscar, even if he’s tall, bends over when he fights so he might take away that height advantage and Manny gets him. You look very closely because we studied this he bends forward. Manny can hurt him because he punches harder than Oscar,” dagdag ni Steward. (Abac Cordero)
