Guardo,Maloloy-on/Dinampo Clan kampiyon sa BRAA hoopfest

CEBU - Nasakmit sa Atan Guardo/Meci Marketing ug sa Maloloy-on/Dinampo Clan ang kampiyonato sa lain-laing category sa bag-o lang nahuman nga Banawa Riverside Athletic Association (BRAA) didto sa open court sa yuta nga gipanag-iya ni Lito Gillamac didto sa Banawa ning dakbayan.

Ang Atan Guardo team milangkat sa korona sa Inter-Sitio human ilang gipukan ang Loyola sa iskor, 87-77 samtang ang Maloloy-on/Dinampo Clan naka-ipsot batok sa Lauron/Rocolas Clan sa overtime sa iskor 93-89 aron pagsakmit sa korona sa Inter-Clan.

Ang ubang mga kampiyon sa laing mga kategoriya mao ang Spartan Kanaas team alang sa midget division, ang Kabulakan team sa mini division ug ang Marimar-Black alang sa volleyball event.

Ang tigpasiugda sa BRAA nga si Boy Allan Lataza nagkanayon nga nakaginhawa na sila’g lawom, the BRAA organizer said after three months of sleepless nights and hardwork, they have a sigh of comfort for having conducted the BRAA games with utmost success last week.

The BRAA was supported by Atan Guardo, Lito Gillamac and Mario King.

During the awarding ceremonies, cash prizes, plaques, trophies and medals were given to the champion teams and individual winnners and was spiced up by a raffle of door prizes. The awarding night was witnseed by Atan Guardo, city councilor Richie Osmeña representing Congressman Antonio Cuenco, retired policeman Arturo Sayson and sports patron Lito Gillamac, the former Tribu Sugbo owner.

The Lauron Clan was only two minutes away from winning the crown but they failed to protect a five-point lead and instead suffered a collapse.

Three consecutive passing errors by Lauron Clan point guard Gaga Cabanilla said it all in the final 1:49 of the overtime perod which resulted to their setback.

In contrast, Mololoy-on clan guard Pedot Animas who acted as the playing coach, tended the backcourt with precision even as Thien Dinampo controlled the boards with 11 rebounds aside from scoring 18 points but it was Zanny Maloloy-on who topscored with 22 points, mostly on his acrobatic moves.

The score was tied at 71-all after the regulation.
