“The field is very tough, and that any team can beat the others,” ani Bustamante. “That’s why we need to come up with our best right from the start of the match to avoid the upset, just like what happened to those two teams.”

Ang no.3 seed Holland A na binubuo nina world no.2 Niels Feijen at Nick van den Berg ay natalo sa mga di kilalang no.30 Belgium tandem nina Noel Bruynooghe at Serge Das, 8-3.

Ang no.8 Finland, na binubuo nina former world champion Mika Immonen at Markus Juva, ay nakalasap naman ng 8-4 decision laban sa Korea duo na sina Jeong Younghwa at Kim Woongdae.

“A race-to-eight match is very short, so you need to have a strong start. Hangga’t maari nga ‘wag mo nang patirahin yung kalaban, dahil baka pag binigay mo ‘yung mesa hindi ka na makabalik,” sabi naman ni world no.1 Orcollo, na sinuportahan ang kanilang kampanya dito ni Bustamante ng Villards: Tulong sa Pagsulong ng Philippine Sports ni Senate President Manny Villar at ng Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines (BMPAP).
