Los Baños -- Sumandal ang Laguna sa taekwondo at archery upang patalsikin ang opening day leader Camarines Sur sa liderato ng 3rd Philippine Olympic Festival-Bicol Southern Tagalog qualifying leg kahapon sa University of the Philippines.

Hinakot ng Laguna ang 12 sa 36 gold medals na nakataya sa taekwondo at sumandal sa husay nina Matthew Plaza, Mary Grace Romero at Rvee Zotomayor sa archery upang paramihin ang nakolektang medalya sa 25 golds, 10 silvers at 4 bronze.

Isinukbit ng 14-year-old na si Plaza ang limang gold sa cadet boys category matapos manguna sa Olympic round, 60 meters, 50 meters, 40 meters at Fita 900.

Ang 12 anyos naman na si Romero ay naghari sa 50 meters, 40 meters, 30 meters at Fita 900 events para sa cub girls habang nagbulsa naman si Zotomayor ng 4 golds sa bowman category para sa boys sa kanyang tagumpay sa Fita 900, 30 meters, 25 meters at 20 meters.

Nagrehistro naman ng panalo sina finweight Jefferson Grulla, flyweight Romel Jordan, lightweight Ralph Joseph Elic, Nino Manuel Benedicto (welter) at Cyrus Anthony Tolosa (heavy)sa senior men’s division para sa Laguna habang nagreyna sa senior women’s category sina Sarah Joy Arellano (bantam) at Jenina Go (feather).

 Ang iba pang Laguna jins na naghari sa kani-kanilang weight classes ay sina John Loberg Dela Paz (jr. men bantam), Erwin Nicdao (jr. men feather), Luis Jacob Gonzales (jr. men light), Marae Anthony Deo (jr. men welter), Ara Lorraine Africano (jr. women fly) at Analyn Dela Pena (jr. women feather).
