Roach naaksidente

Isang nabasag na ngipin at sumasakit na likod ang natanggap ni American trainer Freddie Roach matapos masangkot sa isang aksidente kamakailan nang pauwi ito sa Los Angeles, California mula sa laban ni Cuban interim lightweight titlist Joel Ca-samayor kay Australian Michael Katsidis.

Ayon kay Roach, nangyari ang aksidente na sumira sa likuran ng kanyang 2008 Lincoln Navigator sport-utility vehicle (SUV) noong Linggo ng gabi (Manila time).

“I was driving on the freeway and a sports car crossing into the freeway on the on-ramp lost control and crossed three lanes,” ani Roach.”My car spun around twice and then I stopped in the middle. Luckily, I walked away.”

Kumpara kay Roach, ang trainer nina Filipino world super featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao at world bantamweight titlist Gerry Peñalosa, nasaktan naman ang mga sakay ng dalawang sasakyang bumangga sa kanyang Lincoln Navigator.

“The police officer I talked to said the woman lost an eye and the baby she was with was badly hurt,” litanya ni Roach. 

Tatlong araw matapos ang aksidente, may nararamdaman pa ring sakit si Roach sa kanyang likod, habang bumisita na siya sa isang dentista para ipatingin ang kanyang nabasag na ngipin.  

“It feels a little bit stiff after hurting my back. It was only whenever I bent over that I realized that my lower back was really sore. But I am okay. I can walk,” ani Roach. “I didn’t know I cracked my tooth in half until I got home. But I already visited the dentist and the dentist said I must have been really hit so hard.”  (Russell Cadayona)
