Torch relay dadaan sa 10-cities: Doha Asiad ipapalabas sa NBN-4

Sa pamamagitan ng NBN 4 at kabaitan ng The Astra Group, Inc., mapapanood ng mga Filipino ang aksiyon sa nalalapit na 15th Asian Games sa Doha, Qatar.

Ito ang inihayag nina Joey Isabelo, general manager ng government-owned TV station, at Orville Roque, president ng Astra, isang strategic management, trading at investment group.

"We believe that the Filipino people will look forward to our overall coverage of the Asian Games despite the absence of basketball, our national pastime," ani Isabelo.

Sinamahan ang NBN-4 general manager sa PSA Forum sa Pantalan Restaurant ni Roque, may-ari ng sole distributor ng Extreme Magic Sing, Astra executive vice president Heny Fabian, NBN 4 vice-president for sales and marketing Freddie Abando at NBN-4 sports head Edgar Reyes.

Maglalaan ang Astra ng kinakailangang P18 million para maipalabas ang Asian Games sa bansa. Nakapaloob dito ang $100,000 broadcast rights at $154,000 transmission at production cost.

Samantala, dadaan ang Asian Games torch sa 10 major cities sa pagdaan ng kasalukuyang ginaganap na relay, sa Manila sa susunod na linggo.

Ayon sa mga organizers na pinangungunahan nina Gen. (retired) Mario Tanchangco at Nic Cabalza, ang torch relay na nagmula sa Doha, Qatar, site ng Asiad sa taong ito, ay dadaan sa Manila, Quezon City, Marikina, Pasig, San Juan, Mandaluyong, Makati, Taguig Pasay at Parañaque sa buong araw na 12-oras na relay sa Oct. 19 na magsisimula sa Luneta Grandstand sa alas-8:00 ng umaga.
