Santos, Sagad dumagdag sa PBA draft applicants

Dumagdag sina Arwind Santos at Jay Sagad, ang mga reigning Most Valuable Players (MVPs) ng dalawang pinakamalalaking collegiate leagues ng bansa sa listahan ng prospective rookies para sa August 20 PBA Annual Rookie Draft sa Market Market sa Taguig.       

Mayroon nang kabuuang 23 applicants ang nag-apply para sa Draft at inaasahang madadagdagan pa ito bago ang July 14 deadline.      

"We’re very happy to see Arwind Santos and Jay Sagad among the prospective rookies for this year’s Draft, two players who have the potential to become PBA superstars in the future," pahayag ni league commissioner Noli Eala.        

Si Santos ay ang two-time UAAP MVP na naging susi sa tatlong sunod na basketball title ng Far Eastern University.

Mayroon din itong MVP title sa Philippine Basketball League (PBL) sa paggiya sa Magnolia sa dalawang championships.        

Nagpasa na rin ng application si Gabriel Espinas, ang 2004 NCAA rookie of the Year at MVP kasama ang kanyang Philippine Christian University teammate na si Robert Sanz.        

Ang tatlong Fil-Ams na nagpalista na sa Draft ay sina Robert Reyes, PBL MVP Joe Calvin DeVance at Kelly Williams.        

Gayunpaman, kailangan pang beripikahin ang kanilang mga dokumentong ipinasa.

Ang  iba pang aplikante ay sina Lewis Alfred Tenorio, Joseph Yeo, Mark Isip, Mark Magsumbol, Glenn Edward Perseveranda, Orvie Vidad, Angelus Raymundo, Jireh Ibañes, Ariel de Castro, Abraham Santos, Chico Lanete, Alfie Grijaldo, Ryan Cristobal, Don Dulay, Philip Butel, Al Vergara at Ernani Christopher Pacana.
