Banta ng POC ikinagulat ng PSC

Ikinagulat kahapon ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William "Butch" Ramirez ang bantang demanda sa kanila ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Jose "Peping" Cojuangco, Jr.

Ayon kay Ramirez, hindi ganito ang pagturing ng isang kaibigan sa kanyang matalik na kaibigan."Akala ko ba partner kami sa sports," pagtataka ni Ramirez kaugnay sa banta ni Cojuangco na sasampahan niya ng civil suit ang sports commission dahilan sa kabiguan nitong kolektahin ang dapat sana ay mga bahagi nito sa Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) at Bureau of Customs (BOC).

Dumepensa si Ramirez sa paratang ni Cojuangco na hindi nila hinahabol ang nasabing mga singilin mula sa PAGCOR, PCSO at BOC base sa Republic Act 6847 ni dating Misamis Rep. Victorico Chavez.

"Hindi na namin kasalanan ‘yan. As per document, we have records to show that we have already written these agencies demanding our shares," ani Ramirez.

"We are neglecting our duties as far as we are concerned."

Sinabi kamakailan ni Cojuangco na ang POC ang siyang kakatawan sa mga National Sports Associations (NSAs) na binibigyan ng financial assistance ng PSC mula sa RA 6847.

"We are doing our job in collecting these funds. Kung gusto nilang tumulong, tumulong na lang sila," sabi ni Ramirez.

Ayon kay Cojuangco, matapos ang liderato ni dating Pangulong Cory Aquino, hindi na itinuloy ng PAGCOR, PCSO at BOC ang kanilang responsibilidad sa PSC. (Russell Cadayona)
