Sa ipinapakita ng Team Philippines, hindi malayong makuha nito ang inaasam na overall championship sa 23rd Southeast Asian Games.

Ayon kay National Training Director Mike Keon, ito ay kung patuloy na mamamayagpag ang mga Filipino athletes patungo sa huling tatlong araw ng mga kompetisyon ng biennial event.

"If we continue to follow the present trend, I believe that we can get around a hundred medals," wika kahapon ni Keon.

Nauna nang naghayag ng prediksyon ang dating Project Director ng Gintong Alay kung saan sinabi niyang kaya ng mga Pinoy na kumolekta ng mula 92 hanggang 128 gintong medalya para maangkin ang overall crown ng 2005 SEA Games.

Ayon kay Keon, bukas, Linggo, ang magiging krusyal na bahagi ng 2005 SEA Games kung saan kabuuang 100 gintong medalya ang nakalatag.

"Everyone has to prepare themselves on Sunday, which has 100 gold medals at stake," ani Keon. "Let’s just hang on to our seats, but I believe we’re heading for the right direction."

Noong 1991 Manila SEA Games, kabuuang 91 gold medals ang nalambat ng Team Philipines sa ilalim ng 92 ng Indonesia, ang tinanghal na overall champion. (Russell Cadayona)
