Gold kina Yang at Ting

Apat na medalya na ang isinusubi ng Philippine wushu artists makaraang umiskor ang magka-partner na sina Aida Yang at Vicky Ting ng panalo sa 23rd Southeast Asian Games wushu compe-tition na ginaganap sa Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Gymnasium.

 Umiskor ng 9.23 sina Yang at Ting sa women’s duilian event para isukbit ang gintong medalya.

Iniuwi naman nina Ei Khang Htwe at Ma Swe Swe Thant ng Myanmar ang silver medal sa kanilang 9.18 kasunod ang 9.10 nina Deng Ying Zhi at Ng Xin Ni ng Vietnam para sa bronze medal.

Noong Lunes ng gabi isinubi ni Pedro Quina ang kauna-unahang gold sa wushu sa men’s nanquan event kasunod ng gold nina Willy Wang at Arvin Ting sa men’s qiangshu at daoshu event, ayon sa pagkakasunod para idepensa ang kanilang korona sa naturang event.

Sina Wang at Ting ay may tigalawang gintong medalya noong 2003 SEA Games sa Vietnam.

"I’m very happy with the performance of our athletes in the first two days of the competition and I hope we can conti-nue winning because this is for our country," wika ni Wushu Federation Philip-pines (WFP) president Julian Camacho.

 Labintatlong gintong medalya ang nakalatag ngayon sa wushu. Ito ay ang men’s changquan, sanshou 48kg, 56kg, 60kg at 70kg at taijiquan-taijian events, samantalang nakahanay naman sa women’s ang taijiquan-taijian, changquan, san-shou 45kg at 52kg at jianshu at taolu-daoshu. (Sarie Francisco)
