Concepcion, kumpiyansa

Kumpiyansa si four-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Emerito "Mae" Concepcion sa tsansa ng Philippine national shooting team matapos ang masamang kampanya sa Vietnam noong 2003.

 "Siguro naman maganda na ang ipapakita namin, lalo na nga at dito sa bansa natin ang Southeast Asian Games," ani Concepcion, puputok sa men’s 10-meter air rifle (60 shots) event sa 2005 Philippine SEA Games.

 Sa 2003 Vietnam SEA Games, isang gold medal lamang ang naibulsa ng Philippine National Shooting Association (PNSA) mula sa men’s team trap event.

 Ngayong edisyon ng naturang biennial meet, kabuuang 25 gintong medalya ang nakalinya kung saan hangad ng PNSA na makakolekta ng walo hanggang 10.

 Simula ngayong alas-9 ng umaga, nakatakda ang mga final round sa men’s 50m pistol (60 shots) at practical pistol at sa women’s 10m air pistol at practical pistol event sa PSC Shooting Range sa Fort Bonifacio.

 Dalawang gold medal naman ang nakataya sa men’s at women’s trap (75 targets) event sa PNSA Clay Target sa Muntinlupa.

 Lalahok si Carolino Gonzales sa men’s 50m pistol (60 shots); sina Joel San Vicente, Joaquin Ortega at Luis Lee (men’s practical pistol), sina Marly Analou Quinamola at Mary Grace Tan (women’s practical pistol), sina Jethro Dionisio at Eric Ang (men’s trap), si Rachel Marie Capili (women’s 10m air rifle) at sina Gay Josefina Corral at Annamaria Gana (women’s trap).

 Nakatakdang pumutok si actor-sportsman Richard Gomez sa men’s standard shotgun bukod sa pagsabak sa men’s epee team event ng fencing. (Russell Cadayona)
