Malaki ang papel ng mga Pinoy sa 23rd SEA Games

Malaki ang magiging papel ng bawat mamamayan kaugnay sa kampanya ng mga atletang Pinoy sa darating na 23rd Southeast Asian Games sa Nobyembre.

"Kailangan ang suporta ng taumbayan kasi iba talaga kapag nandiyan sila para sumuporta sa ‘yo," sabi ni Elma Muros-Posadas ng track and field. "Iba talaga ang feeling kapag para sa sarili mong bayan ang inilalaban mo."

Isa lamang ang dating SEA Games sprint queen at long jump champion sa 12 Sports Ambassadors na inihanay ng Philippine Olympic Committee upang maglibot sa mga shopping malls, colleges at universities.

Maliban kay Muros-Posadas, ang iba pang ambassadors ng POC para sa 2005 SEA Games ay sina athletics great Lydia de Vega-Mercado, badminton queen Weena Lim, basketball idol Allan Caidic, billiards legend Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes, bowler Rafael ‘Paeng’ Nepomuceno, boxer Mansueto ‘Onyok’ Velasco, equestrienne Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski, shooter Nathaniel ‘Tac’ Padilla, swimmers Eric Buhain at Akiko Thomson at taekwondo jin Monsour del Rosario.

"Ilalaban mo ng patayan para makuha mo ‘yung gold medal," ani Muros-Posadas. "Kahit hindi mo na kaya, maka-kaya mo pa rin. Wala talagang imposible." (Ulat ni R. Cadayona)
