PHILSOC kikilos na para makakolekta ng pondo

Matapos ang pulong kay Pagulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo noong Lunes, kaagad na kumilos ang Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHIL-SOC) para makakolekta ng pondo.
Ayon kay PHILSOC Marketing Committee chief Boy Santiago, may 30 spon-sors na silang nakausap para tumulong sa pagpopondo ng darating na 23rd SEA Games sa Nobyembre.
"We have a list of about 30 sponsors na maliliit. And I would say mga ninety percent sure na but anything can still happen kaya kailangan may pinanghahawakan na tayong kasiguruhan from them," sabi kahapon ni Santiago.
Kailangan ng PHILSOC ng pondong mula P800 milyon hanggang P1 bilyon upang mapatakbo ang naturang biennial event na hinawakan ng bansa noong 1981 at 1991.
Ayon kay Santiago, malaki pa ang kakulangan para tustusan ang kanilang market-ing approach.
"Bukod sa regular adver-tising industry budget we have started to move on a non-traditional age by talking to groups of companies to support the Southeast Asian Games," ani Santiago. "We made an appeal to them so that we can start moving also in our cash requirements to already ink the contract."
Nakakuha na ang PHIL-SOC ng suporta mula sa Globe Telecommunications at sa Smart Communications para ipanggastos sa pagha-handa sa 2005 SEA Games.
"This is the project of the country at lahat tayo dito ay mapapahiya. And with that call, they have started to move," wika ni Santiago sa mga spon-sors. (Russell Cadayona)
