3 ginto sinagwan ng Pinoy kayakers

Nanatiling nakalutang ang Philippine matapos sunggaban ang tatlong ginto at 4 na silver me-dals kontra sa Vietnamese sa Day 2 ng 5th Southeast Asian Canoe Championships sa Fisherman’s Wharf, sa Subic.

Humakot ang 34-man Vietna-mese delegation ng 7 golds sa iba’t ibang race categories, ngunit hinawakan ng Pinoy kayakers ang senior at juniors side ng event.

Sinimulan ng rookie na si Marvin Amposta ang gold rush para sa Pinoy paddlers matapos manguna sa junior men’s 1,000m singles sa bilis na apat na oras, at 17.75 segundo.

Apat pang Pinoy bets ang nag-uwi ng dalawa pang gintong me-dalya para sa bansa patungo sa final day ng 3 araw na kompetisyon na suportado ng Philippine Sports Commission, PCSO, Philippine Convention and Visitors Inc., SBMA Subic Fisherman’s Wharf Resort, Subic International Hotel, San Miguel Corp., Smart Addict Mobile, McDonald’s-Olongapo, Coppertone Sports , Tribu sandals, Subic Bay Medical Center, Stron Communications System, IDG Productions at Penta-Shimizu Toa Joint-Venture.

Kapwa naghari ang 17 anyos na sina Jonard Saren at Ryan Ronald Tabagan, sa 1,000m juniors doubles habang ang matagal ng magpartner na sina April Mae Penalosa at Janet Escalona ang nagbigay ng ikatlong ginto sa bansa sa women’s 1,000m juniors.
