SEAG Vietnam mapapanood pa rin sa TV

Sa tulong ng Jemah Television, hindi pa rin maipagkakait sa mga mamayang Pinoy na mapanood sa telebisyon ang pakikipaglaban ng Philippine delegation sa 22nd Southeast Asian Games sa Vietnam sa Disyembre 5-13.

Masayang ipinahayag ni Philippine Olympic Committee president Celso Dayrit sa SCOOP sa Kamayan na sinalo ng Jemah Television, isang local firm na namamahala ng mga foreign movies , TV shows sa local network ang hindi kayang gampanan ng NBN-4 dahil sa pinansiyal na problema.

Ayon kay Dayrit, ang broadcast firm na pina-mumunuan ni Mark Roces ay magbabayad ng P1 milyon sa POC para sa coverage ng SEAG, walong oras kada araw sa loob ng 10 araw ng palaro na nakatakda sa Dis-yembre 5-13 sa lungsod ng Hanoi at Ho Chi Mihn sa Vietnam.

Gayunpaman, tanging ang popular na basketball, boxing at billiards maging ang opening at closing ceremonies la-mang ang isasa-ere ng buo habang ang mga highlights lamang ng 28 pang sports na lalahukan ng bansa ang kokoberan dahil na rin sa kakulangan ng tao at pasilidad, pahayag ng POC chief sa forum na itinataguyod ng Photokina Marketing.

Ayon pa kay Dayrit, uupahan ng Jemah Television ang ilang tauhan at equipment ng NBN-4 para sa kanilang television coverage ng Games dahil kulang din sila sa mga kagamitan.

Ang P1 milyong kaba-yaran sa broadcast right ay bukod pa sa talent fees at cost ng equipments na babayaran ni Roces sa NBN-4.

"This is a welcome news as far as the POC is concerned. And the POC is thanking Jemah Television for coming to the rescue. This news, indeed, came as a sign of relief that private company had volunteered to cover the Games, a risk other networks did not want to take for various reasons, primarily financial," ani Dayrit.

"I say Jemah Television is taking the risk because of the uncer-tainty that they can recover their investment. what is important here is not the income to be generated from the coverage but giving our coun-trymen the chance to see their athletes perform," dahilan pa ni Dayrit.

"The POC take this development as a bless-ing in disguise. The uncer-tainty of things in Vietnam, which is hosting the Games for the first time, forced the NBN-4 and other networks to beg-off.
