Mindanao Games dinagsa ng mga LGUs

Patuloy ang pagdagsa ng mga entries para sa nalalapit na Minadanao Games kung saan mas maraming local government units ang magpapadala ng kani-kanilang lahok na gaganapin sa Mati Centennial Sports Complex sa Mati, Davao Oriental mula Oktubre 19-24.

Hanggang kahapon, ang MG Secretariat ay nagproseso at nagkum-pirma ng paglahok ng mahigit sa 41 local government units na nagbabadya lamang ng posibilidad na paglahok ng mahigit sa 4,000 atleta at delegation members.

"Records show that majority of the registered participants come from provinces and component cities in the region. However, we are expecting a rise of participants from other highly urbanized cities in the coming days," ani Ariel Paredes, PSC national programs secretariat head.

Ayon naman kina Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Eric Buhain at Commissioner Leon Montemayor, ang overall project director na ang patuloy na pagdagsa ng mga partisipante sa Mindanao Games ay makakahikayat sa pagtaas ng promosyon at development ng sports sa rehiyon.

Ang mga sports na paglalabanan sa nasabing meet ay ang arnis, athletics, badminton, basketball, baseball, billiards, boxing, chess, cycling, dancesports, football, golf, gymnastics, judo, karatedo, pencak silat, sepak takraw, shooting, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, lawn tennis, triathlon, volleyball, at weightlifting. Isinama na rin ang palakasan para sa mga may kapansanan.
