PSC nakakuha ng kakampi

Nakakuha ng kakampi ang Philippine Sports Commission para sa kanilang kampanya para sa pondo ng pagho-host ng bansa sa 2005 Southeast Asian Games mula sa ilang miyembro ng House of Representatives.
Nangako ng suporta sina Hon. Generoso DC Tulagan ng ikatlong distrito ng Pangasinan at Hon. Del R. de Guzman ng Marikina City sa proposal ng PSC na P546 million appropiation mula sa kongreso para sa pagho-host ng bansa sa biennial meet.
"I passionately share the PSCs views on the honor and prestige hosting this biennial meet will bring to our country and it is also our great task to identify all possible fund resources for hosting the event which has economic benefits for our country," ani Rep. Tulagan.
Kabilang sa hiling ni PSC chairman Eric Buhain ay ang pagbuo ng Special Fund para sa SEAG budget allocation na kabibilangan ng pagsasaayos at pagpapaganda ng venue, equipment at supplies at information technology requirement.
Bilang pauna, nagsumite ang PSC ng P356 million capital outlays at P40 million sa maintenance at operating expenses para sa 2004 at P150 million para sa 2005 SEAG ngunit inirekomenda ng Department of Budget and Management ang halagang P30 million para sa 2004 para aprobahan ng kongreso.
"With barely two more years to go, I am deeply worried how we can pursue with vigor the vital preparations that wil ensure the success of the SEA Games with this huge budget slash and its implication on our hosting capabilities," anaman ni Rep. de Guzman.
