Pagtatanghal ng 3A's mag-aahon sa imahe ng bansa

Ang nalalapit na 15th Asian Athletic Championships ang posibleng isa sa kasagutan sa pagtatangka ng Philippines na muling maiahon ang imahe ng bansa bilang sports-oriented at tourist-friendly country.

Ang nasabing pananaw ay ibinahagi ni Philippine Amateur Track and Field Association president Go Teng Kok at Asian Athletics Association (3As) secretary-general Maurice Nicholas na nanawagan sa Filipino nation na suportahan ang pagdaraos ng prestihiyosong meet na ito sa September sa Manila.

"We have more than 500 athletes at 300 officials from some 40-plus countries which are members of the 3As coming to Manila. They come to have topnotch competition and share the excitement of a successful sports event. I’m sure the Philippines is capable of providing these in the 15th Asian Championships," ani Nicholas.

Ang naturang event ay idaraos sa bansa sa ikatlong pagkakataon simula ng pasimulan ito dito noong 1973 ay nagkaroon ng grand launching noong Lunes sa Tiara Hotel sa Makati City na dinaluhan ng mga matataas na sports officials at ilang government at private sectors na tutulong sa pag-i-endorso nito sa Manila edition.
