Immonen may misyon kay Reyes

Sinabi ni 2001 World Pool Champion Mika Immonen kahapon na siya ay babalik ng Manila na dala ang isang misyon at ito ay ang makapaghiganti sa kanyang masaklap na kabiguang natamo sa mga kamay ni Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes sa katatapos pa lamang na $50,000 winner-take-all Challenge of Champions sa pagsikad ng ‘Cafe Puro Challenge of the Masters’ simula sa Sept. 17-20 sa Yacht Club ng Subic Bay.

"I have heard so many nice things about Subic Bay that I am eager to visit and enjoy myself besides competing against the greatest pool players in the world in what is reportedly a beautiful venue," paha-yag ni Immonen ng i-welcome siya ni Chairman Felicito Payumo ng Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority na siyang magiging host ng nasa-bing event.

Ayon pa kay Immonen, nakatakdang dumating si US Open champion Corey Deuel bukas at sinabi nito na "is also playing well and he too has a score to settle with Bustamante so this should be an exciting tournament. Reyes and Bustamante are the top of their form but we are ready to challenge them and beat them in their own hometown."

Makakaharap ni Bustamante si Deuel sa opening match sa Martes na susundan ng sagupaan sa pagitan nina Reyes at Immonen. Ang round robin eliminations ay isang best-of-three sets affair na ang bawat set ay isang race-to-five na may alternate break format.
