Barcelona Battle of Gold Medalsits sasargo na

Tungo sa pagpapaunlad ng billiards sa grassroots level, nagsanib ng puwersa ang National Broadcasting Network at Barcelona Brandy para sa isang long-term program na katatampukan ng apat na gold medalists sa three-round event na tinaguriang P200,000 Barcelona Battle of Gold Medalists 9-Ball Challenge na magsisimula ngayon sa Robinson’s Place Manila.

Ayon sa organizer na si Rolly Baron, NBN Sales and Marketing director, sina 2001 SEA Games 15-ball rotation gold medalist Warren Kiamco, 1998 Asian Games 9-ball gold medalist Romeo Villanueva, 2001 SEA Games 9-ball gold medalist Antonio Lining at 2001 SEA Games 8-ball gold medalist Lee Van Corteza para magbukas ng aksiyon ngayon.

"Billiards is one sports where we believe Filipinos can excel. We intend to concentrate more on the grassroots level. That’s why we first tapped these four gold medalists to spark more interest before we come up with an open tournament where we can discover and mould fresh talents and future billiard superstars.

Libre para sa publiko ang naturang event na ipapalabas ng live sa NBN-4.

Inaasahang magiging mahigpit ang labanan dahil ang lahat ng apat na kalahok ay minsan nang nanalo kay Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes.

Maglalaban sa araw na ito si Kiamco at Villanueva sa alas-7:00 ng gabi sa Robinson’s Place at maghaharap naman si Lining at Corteza sa Robinson’s Galeria sa Ortigas.
