Newly appointed Department of Health  Secretary Jose Brittanio Pujalte Jr. has vowed to push for the continuous delivery of quality health care services in the country.

After over a week of being confined at the Philippine National Police (PNP) General Hospital, Sen. Rodante Marcoleta was brought to the Philippine General Hospital  in Manila where he underwent an independent medical examination as ordered by the Sandiganbayan. Marcoleta, who was in handcuffs, left Camp Crame in a police coaster at 11:15 a.m. He was escorted by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group  agents and personnel of the PNP Health Service.

Citing health reasons, Teodoro Herbosa has resigned as Department of Health secretary, and President Marcos named yesterday Philippine Orthopedic Center (POC) head Jose Brittanio Pujalte Jr. as acting DOH chief.

The National Bureau of Investigation has recommended the filing of homicide charges against resigned Ateneo head coach Tab Baldwin and 11 others over the deaths of Blue Eagles Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili on June 8.

The NBI filed complaints before the DOJ over the June 8 drowning incident.
