President Marcos yesterday vowed to resist a “disturbing” plot of Vice President Sara Duterte to have him assassinated, chiding his political ally-turned-arch critic for resorting to “kwentong chicheria” or silly talk just to evade questions about her alleged misuse of confidential funds.

Vice President Sara Duterte finally agreed to take her oath as a resource person of the House committee on good government and public accountability, to enable her to defend her chief of staff Zuleika Lopez.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will summon Vice President Sara Duterte to explain her public declaration that she had contracted a hitman to assassinate President Marcos, his wife Liza and cousin Speaker Martin Romualdez should an alleged plot on her life succeed.

The House of Representatives committee on good government and public accountability extended yesterday the detention for contempt of the Office of the Vice President (OVP)’s chief of staff Zuleika Lopez. 

Vice President Sara Duterte may face charges of grave threats and sedition over her assassination remarks against President Marcos, First Lady Liza Marcos and Speaker Martin Romualdez, according to the Department of Justice.
